Three steps from install to compliance — all of it inside Shopify Admin.
One-click install from the Shopify App Store. We sync your catalog and set up your compliance dashboard. No migration, no onboarding call.
Open the Section 15(b) wizard and walk through every required field. Start blank, or seed product and hazard text from a recall match when you have one—you still add and verify the narrative for your situation.
Review the completed draft, export it as a clean text document formatted for SaferProducts.gov, and submit. Your compliance history stays organized.
Built for the Section 15(b) compliance workflow — from first draft to filed.
Walk through every Section 15(b) field with guided prompts. Hazard description, product identification, corrective action — completed in a single session and saved to your compliance history.
Blank drafts stay merchant-driven. When you start from a recall-to-product match, RecallDocket seeds product text from Shopify and hazard language from CPSC data, and may add order-derived hints when that history exists. You confirm every value before filing.
See every product's filing status at a glance. Green means filed. Yellow means in progress. Red means action needed. The July 8 deadline is always visible.
Every filing saves as a clean text export formatted for the SaferProducts.gov portal. One review step — not a data re-entry project.
Built with Polaris. It looks like Admin, works like Admin, and charges through Shopify Billing. One less external login to manage.
All plans are billed through Shopify, so there's no separate card to manage. Cancel anytime from inside the app.

Plain-English answers to the questions that come up most.
What is Section 15(b) and why does it matter?
Section 15(b) of the Consumer Product Safety Act requires manufacturers, importers, distributors, and retailers to notify the CPSC when they become aware of a product defect that creates a substantial hazard. Starting July 8, 2026, this notification must be submitted electronically through the SaferProducts.gov portal. Civil penalties apply for failures to report.
Do I need to file if I'm a retailer, not a manufacturer?
Yes. The Section 15(b) obligation extends to retailers who sell covered products. If you sell physical consumer goods through your Shopify store, you need a compliance process in place before the deadline.
Does RecallDocket submit the filing directly to the CPSC?
Not directly — by design. RecallDocket prepares the complete draft in the exact format SaferProducts.gov requires and exports it as a text document. You review it, paste it in, and confirm submission. This keeps you in control of every filing that goes to a federal agency.
How does smart pre-fill work?
Most drafts start blank so you control each field. If you create a filing from an internal recall-to-product match, RecallDocket can seed selected fields from your Shopify product (for example title and description), copy hazard language from the CPSC recall record, and—when Shopify order history is available—suggest distribution dates, line-item SKUs, and a count of customers who ordered the product as rough starting values (not verified unit totals). You review and correct everything before export.
What happens after the July 8, 2026 deadline?
The eFiling obligation is ongoing. Any time a merchant becomes aware of a covered product issue going forward, a new filing is required within a specified timeframe. RecallDocket keeps your compliance history organized so you always know what has been filed and what is pending.
What does the Free plan include?
Up to 100 products, unlimited eFiling drafts, and the full compliance dashboard. No credit card required.
Is my product data shared or stored outside Shopify?
Your catalog data is stored in a US-based database (Neon) solely for the purpose of populating eFiling drafts. Shopify access tokens are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM). We do not sell or share your data. Uninstall at any time — data is deleted within 24 hours.
Join Shopify merchants who trust RecallDocket to keep their Section 15(b) filings current before the July 8, 2026 deadline.
